So, last fall, I got to do something very cool: record a 5 episode arc on my friend's actual play TTRPG podcast!
Ep. One (first episode of the story) is here. Ty’s posting one episode one week and then a commentary episode the week after.
Hands down, this was one of the best storytelling experiences I've ever had!

One of my favorite people (Ty Von Plinsky) runs one of my favorite actual play podcasts, Side Character Quest, a "one-on-one actual play podcast set in a world where cicadas sing, rivers flow, magic thrums through the air, and all of it’s surrounded by a single massive Wall as ancient as history itself."
It uses a homebrewed Forged in the Dark system that Ty developed, in a world he created.
Think: original fantasy setting based on Ty's background growing up in the SE United States and featuring ordinary characters who don't think of themselves as adventurers.
There’s magic. There’re skeletons. There’s breakfast.
I'm playing Rumor Pinefrill, mountain Lizard Mailman and tired dad. Rumor lives with his husband on a goat farm and delivers mail to the remote Three Brothers Mountain Range.
Seriously, I'm super proud of what Ty and I did, and hope you enjoy it too!

FYI - there be cussin' (if you're listening around kids and don't want to be surprised by that. It's not NOT for kids, but the show's made with adults in mind.)
